Planning Properties

Description of dialog

Edit Properties

To access this dialog:

A property is another piece of information that can be placed onto activities. The main difference between an attribute and a property is the “scope” of the data and how it is applied to the design. A property can be extracted from the block model and then placed onto the design, or calculated, as is the case with derived activities. It can also be edited directly or be imported from another source such as an Excel spreadsheet or database.

The Properties panel allows different activities to have different properties applied to them and even allows different values to be applied to the same properties within the same property definition. This can be used for say, applying different factors to activities associated with different areas of the mine.

Properties can be weighted against other fields.

There are a series of default base properties which cannot be deleted or modified.

Using the Properties Panel

You can add or delete extra properties by right-clicking and selecting one of the buttons in the top right corner of the panel.

  1. Add Property

  2. Delete Property - only available if the property has not already been processed, whereupon it is locked and cannot be deleted. Only properties that are not active within the current planning project can be deleted.

You can also import and export your property definitions, and generate properties based on existing numeric attributes within your project design data:

  1. Import an XML file containing property definitions.

  2. Export the current property definitions in XML format.

  3. Generate properties using existing project attributes, using the Field Selector panel. Select the Use check box for each of the fields you wish to inject into the Properties table list and click OK.

Properties Parameters

The Properties panel table contains the following columns:

Name: a unique name defining the property. This field is read-only for default base properties.

Units: a unique unit assignation for the property.

Weighted on: select a field from the drop-down list on which to weight the selected property.

Is Evaluated: to report results against the selected property during evaluation, enable this check box.
